There's been a problem in Korea with international smartphones device (manufactured overseas) accessing prepaid MVNO SIM cards since January 2023.
As a result of your device not being registered in Korea, your device may blocked to use any of MVNO SIM.
1️⃣ Make sure your IMEI is registered
Since your device is not a registered device in Korea, you need to register to confirm that you will use your device in Korea. You'll need to register both IMEI 1 and IMEI 2 codes if your phone supports dual SIMs.
IMEI codes can be registered by visiting
www.imei.kr or by contacting Kimchi mobile.
✲ Find your imei by dialing *#06# from your device.
⚠️ If you already insert the SIM before the activation OR get the SMS from carrier center that your device will be suspended,
Please do not click anything from SMS and also try anything with the SIM. Contact Kimchi mobile and let us know with your SMS screen shot so that we can request to re-activate your SIM at the carrier center directly.
When you do these all, try this process.
Activation process
1. Turn off Roaming / eSIM / Dual SIM / Cellular / Wifi
2. Insert SIM card (You should take out other SIM if you are using Dual SIM)
3. Turn on only cellular and reboot
This process is to let your device recognize the new SIM card. If you put 2 SIM at once or turn on dual SIM, your new SIM will not work. Please turn off and take out everything before activating your new SIM.
Please make sure that it is impossible to refund or cancel after activation due to the simple change of mind or not a result of our error includes IMEI device issue.
